Welcome to the Department ofCommunications. We offer courses in English language, business writing,academic writing, IELTS, TOEIC and ACCUPLACER.
 
We are committed to providing ourstudents with opportunities for frequent writing and detailed instructorfeedback in a discussion-centered classroom environment. Many of our studentshave gone on to achieve distinction in the automotive industry, computingsciences, business, and graduate study.

Our aim is to prepare students to communicate and create newknowledge in the many different communities – academic and business, personaland international - in which they will live and work. 
 
English offers a traditional preparation for careers inmanagement, journalism, publishing, law, advertising, public relations,government, and creative and technical writing—all areas where goodcommunication skills are important.

The Communication and Academic English coursesare part of the international programmes offered at CIIS. Our class sizes allowpersonalized instruction; our lab facilities allow individualized practice. Thecourse offerings embrace all aspects of language-listening, reading, writingand speaking. It is imperative that students are aware of the close reading andinterpretation of texts; critical thinking; enunciating clearly andpresentation skills necessary for a strong understanding of how language worksin all areas of life and study.

ELIGIBILTY

The students who wish to enroll  for into the Academic English/Communication: must have 72% in +2 English or IELTSscore of 6.5 band with 6 in each module. For thosewho do not qualify the above they can either write the TOEIC exam (for Georgianprogramme) or Accuplacer exam (for TRU programmes) that are conducted atregular intervals before the commencement of the programme  by the Canadian faculty.
