Army Battle-MightDisplay - at CGI   JALVEHRA.

Latest hi-tech weapons & battle ornaments amidst thecivilians. Continental Group of Institutes was decked with metallic beautiesshowcased with pride by the Indian army and the army representatives educatedthe visitors on the latest wherewithal available with army .local population including students of colleges& schools from Chandigarh, Ambala, Mohali, Patiala, Rajpura, Sirhind,Kurali, Banur, hansali, Kharar, Mandi Govindgarh & surrounding region had abusy time going through the shining latest tanks, artillery guns, missiles,infantry weapons and other engineering and communication equipment in use. Thearmy authorises has set up an information Kiosk to educate visitors aboutrecruitment prospects and modalities to join army at various ranks.

Chief Guest at the occasion, Harcharan singh Bains, mediaadvisor to chief minister Punjab , said that suchexhibitions are needed to bridge gap between army personal and Civilians He exhorted efforts of CGI in holding thisgrand event successfully & lauded the efforts of the Institute in lookingafter retired defence personnel & the war widows of the region.

Lt.Col.B.Sandhu chairman and managing director,WWICS groupof companies welcomed the guests. Col.Sandhu remarked, Number of youth joiningarmy at all levels is on constant decline. The need of the hour is to sensitisethe Youth regarding this aspect. He deliberated on  the high quality of life embedded upon thevalues, ethics, loyaly, integrity & self respect donned by the army men..He shared his plans  to hold armyrecruitment rallies in the Institute Campus in near future to facilities youngsters to join forces.”

Gen BKN Chibber, former Governor, Punjab,A.S Chatha, former Chief Secretary, Punjab, Veteran gallantary award winners- Brig Sant Singh,MVC, Brig KS Chandpuri, MVC, Brig Gill, VrC, Lt Gen HRS Mann  & many others also graced the occasionwith their august presence. Special dog show remained centre of attraction.Three army pipe bands drawn from different infantry Battalions added marshalmelody to this event.

Fifty war widows ofdistrict were honoured at the occassion. Col.B.S.Sandhu, Chairman of thegroup of institutes, on belhalf of WWICs Group of Companies, Honored thesewidows by presenting gifts as a token of appreciation for the sacrifices madeby their husbands..T o add colour to the function the students of theInstitutes presented colourful dances in the form of traditional Bhangra, GirlsGidda & Malvayi Gidda enthralling the audience. An estimated 5000 visitorwitnessed the exhibition to their delight.
