During my Co-op terms, I worked for a software company that specialized in web-portals and educational software. I was the first undergraduate there and consider myself fortunate as my course curriculum had made me capable of working as a technical writer immediately after completing my first year of education.

In my tenure of Co-op, I was mainly involved in writing user manuals and instructional booklets.Our company head, Mr. Amrik Singh Sodhi, was very patient with me and helped me learn the finer aspects of technical writing. Besides this, I also got to learn a lot more from my seniors, team – leader and other team mates. All of them were very co-operative and provided help and guidance when and wherever needed. In my seven months of training, I was never made to feel as a subordinate (a trainee). Although I have a long way to go but these Co-op work-terms have helped me amass good knowledge, work experience, confidence, interpersonal skills, taught me work culture and a lot more which otherwise I wouldn’t have gained.

Working at MAHLE Filter Systems (India) Limited, Gurgaon (Haryana), was a wonderful experience. I worked with highly qualified professionals who guided me through my Co-op work – term.

Working with them developed my sense of leadership, the zeal to take initiative, and of course, my patience. Being exposed to the professional environment also polished my CAD and Communication skills that will be an asset to me throughout my career.

It was fantastic to have such practical in – hand experience that enhanced what I learnt during my academic semesters at CIIS.
